If you were ever able to change your name, what would your name be? (N. Thomas)

If I changed my name, I would pick Alicia Bryant. One day, I saw something in a magazine (this was when I was in high school maybe) and it said what would your Superstar Name be? So, the rules were use your middle name and the street you live on as your new full name. My middle name happens to be Alicia and I live on Bryant hence Alicia Bryant. I loved it so much it stuck with me and I said, “Wow, I actually prefer this name over what I currently have”. Even more so, I love and prefer my signature ‘Alicia Bryant’ opposed to ‘Lauren Cahill’.

I was never a fan of my name, Lauren. There was a point and time in my life where I hated my name and my sister hated hers so we switched names- her name was now Lauren and mine was Gillian. Of course, it was too complicated and we had to switch back but it was fun while it lasted.

To this day, I have somewhat grown into it. I thought for a time I was named after the Laurel flower or after the actress, Lauren Bacall but from what it says in my baby book- my parents liked it and thought it had class.

I have come to terms with Lauren but I actually prefer ‘Laur’ for people who know me. I cannot stand being called Lor, Lori, Lora, Loren, or Laura. Being referred to as those names makes me cringe.
